Mehraan

With so many already established eateries in Rai Durgam, Gachibowli, it is difficult for a new entrant to keep up with the competition and brand loyalty. One such newbie Mehraan Restaurant which is located near Sunshine Hospitals opened its doors to public about 3 weeks back. The restaurant holds the complete building space with ample dining space to host 200 diners at once. They also have a private party hall and banquet along with the restaurant. The menu is multi-cuisine and one can find Chinese, North Indian, Arabic and local Hyderabadi delicacies here.

My dinner started with some appetizers and in the kebabs were Chicken Malai Tikka, Nawabi Murgh and BBQ Chicken Tikka. In the sea food we had Phuket Fish and Prawns in Thai Sauce. Frankly speaking the appetizers served did not match my expectations as they lacked flavors and were either too salty or lacked all of it. The only savior among these was Nawabi Murgh which tasted good.

Post this was time for some main course and we began with Nalli Gosht Ka Salan which priced at INR.380 is to die for. In this you get two full pieces of raan with an equally amazing curry. The other two curries Ra Ra Mutton and Chicken Patiala were also good but the previous one had to be my favorite given to its taste. We were almost full at this moment but had to make space as we got to know they are also serving Nalli Keema Biryani. This just like the nalli curry had 2 raan pieces and is sufficient for 3 people at a price of INR.440. With well cooked rice and meat and perfect use of spices this biryani is one of the best in this area. The other biryani we tried was Nalli Gosht Biryani which had whole goat leg meat and spicy keema, this again was delicious but since we were quite full we could only manage few spoons of it.

On the service front the place did well and all the orders were served under 20 minutes. The USP of this place is the pricing which has been kept nominal and also the quantity served is enough to attract the crowd. My recommendation to the management would be to work a little on the appetizers.
