The westin – Prego

The Westin Hyderabad is well known for their curated food festivals. Their food festivals are unique in their own way, and their food speaks volume about inspiration and culture. This time, it is Chef Marouane from Bengaluru Marriott Hotel, Whitefield who is here with his summer breeze called as “Italian Summer Fest.” Its a healthy concoction of fruits, vegetables, cheese which transforms into mouth-watering dishes.

As we sat down to eat, we had the opportunity to talk to the chef and know more about his idea and inspiration behind the “Italian Summer Fest.”The summer menu and the food were like little pockets of fresh air and just had marvelous effect on me. Every ingredient comes together and makes it wonderful for you.

We started with Pizza Montenara, a fried pizza served as amuse bouche and it was an absolute delight. Then there was Insalata Envista, a kind of summer salad served with beef shavings.  Oh my my, it was drop dead gorgeous, I couldn’t resist from finishing it. The Bianca Pizza and Piace Allo Chef pizza was fantastic too. The pizzas were loaded with cheese and tasted way better than any other pizzas from around the city. The Coffee Marinated Lamb Loin was just the perfect main course one can have and was indeed the star of the night. The meat was tender and had the perfect smokiness from the coffee and the smoothness, sweetness came from the corn puree. It was one of the lip-smacking dishes I had in a long time.

But nothing ends without desserts, and so was this one. We had Pineapple Carpaccio along with Orange Flower Parfait. Both the desserts were uniquely flavored and just made my day.

It’s a different experience altogether and worth the money and time. The fest is on till 1st July and it is a definite visit.
