Hyderabad is slowly making a mark for itself in the nightlife scene. There are so many bars and clubs coming every day that you are spoilt for choice. In spite of having so many lounges, clubs and rooftops, music bar is something which has not been explored yet in the city. The new entrant in this club culture, Fast Forward is one such concept having its focus on the music. The décor has been kept simple with quirky caricatures painted across the walls. Having both indoor and outdoor seating this place is unusually spacious and is located in Next Galleria Mall, Hitec City. The outdoor seating area gives a very nice view of the Hyderabad metro and is perfect for spending cozy evenings.
Their menu has been kept simple and has been designed keeping in mind the audience flow. We started on with the vegetarian appetizers, Paneer Chili Soya and Water Chestnuts in Chili Sauce, regrettably both the preparations did not go down well. The paneer was way too hard and the sauce too sweet. Hara Tawa Kebab with corn fritter came as a savior, where the spinach and fenugreek cutlet was soft. If the fritter could be replaced with a tava paratha it can be a perfect vegetarian version of Lucknowi Galouti Kebabs.
Having been disappointed with the vegetarian menu, the non-vegetarian menu surely made up for it. I tried the Dhuandhar Murgh Tikka and Singapore Chili Prawns both of them were perfectly cooked and well balanced. Ginger Chicken and Mutton Boti Kebab were again a disappointment as the mutton was overcooked and chicken lacked flavors. The pizza was one of the best I had, perfectly topped chunks of chicken with pickled onions and thin crust.
Post the appetizers it was time to try their main course. Masaledar Kumbh, Murgh Makhanwala and Jhinga Dum Nivash were all perfectly cooked and had all the right spices. They were a great company for the flaky naan. Masaledar Kumbh was a mushroom gravy prepared with onions and would be perfect for someone who loves their spices. Jhinga Dum Nivesh had a creamy gravy which instantly became my favorite.
From the dessert menu they only had two options to choose from, Sizzling Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream and Fried Ice Cream. The fried ice cream coated with coconut is the only one that can be tried as the brownies were really hard and lacked any taste.
Fast Forward surely compensated on the food part with the service. Their serving team was very attentive, warm and extremely prompt in attending to the needs of the dinners. Overall the place does have some good music but lacks in the food front. This can surely be visited for some nice music and affordable food choices
