Are you someone for whom both ambiance and food goes hand in hand? Then, the Juri Café and Bar is the perfect place for you. It is located right at the edge of Road Number 13 Jubilee Hills and is definite place to be. Juri is a revamped version of Cafe Mocha, with far better ambiance and seating areas along with a small amphitheatre setting for live events. It is a mansion which is turned into this beautiful place with an impeccable mix of picturesque décor and peace.
Juri had got quiet an elaborate menu ranging from quintessential South Indian cuisine to continental. They just happen to have it all. Though there were quite a lot of options for the non-vegetarians but for the vegetarians, there were not enough options. We started our tasting session with mocktails and it gave us the perfect start. We ordered a couple of dish and made sure to order a dish each from every cuisine they had on their menu. We ordered Chicken 65, Patiyala Pomfret and Murg Rajoli. All the appetizers’ were equally good with perfectly cook proteins and power packed flavors. But my personal favourite was the spicer Murg Rajoli, a great rendition of the plain old Chicken Tikka. The Patiyala Pomfret was equally good, but the condiments with it took it to a whole new level of flavors. A must try.
The vegetarian section was okish scene and out of the Mezze Platter, Cheese Balls and Veg Nachos, it was only the Mezze Platter that could manage to impress us. The Thai Red Curry Soup was delicious and had the perfect flavors according to Thai flavor book. For the mains, we ordered Nalli Nihari, Butter Chicken, Grilled Chicken and Textures of Sea. Although both the gravies were great, but for me the butter chicken lacked the creamy texture and was that appealing. And the other two continental dishes were perfect, but the Textures of sea was the best seafood dish I had in a long time.
As for the desserts, There were some astonishing dishes such as Caramel Parfait and Chocolate Mud Pie but the flavors of Churros and Lemon Meringue can be worked on. Overall, the place is beautiful and perfect for a last weekend afternoon with friends and family.
